Luis has over seventeen years of experience as a hardware engineer. He specializes in precision measurements, data acquisition, and power supply design. He has taken more than ten products from initial concept through prototyping, testing and manufacturing. He designs hardware from scratch, or engages teams to review existing designs and ensure quality while optimizing cost. His approach to hardware design starts with understanding what the most important specifications to the customer are, and using various design tools, from pen and paper to computer simulations, to guarantee products will meet those specs while minimizing total cost. He understands the importance of starting with thorough design documentation and only then testing to ensure that the hardware follows the behavior predicted at the design stage. He insists on not just fixing bugs, but finding the root cause of the problems to guarantee they cannot happen in production.

Luis has a proven track record of helping customers take their proof of concept prototypes, which may not always work, and turn them into reliable products while significantly reducing the bill of materials cost.
